Penco 2027 Wall Calendar

The Penco 2027 Wall Calendar has no ambitions beyond telling you what the date is, and it meets that ambition completely. January to December 2027 are set in large, unfussy figures you can read from the far side of a room, which is rather more than most calendars manage. There is no illustration, no quotation for the month, nothing at all to admire. It is a calendar.

It hangs from a bulldog clip, a clipboard or a nail, and the sheets are light enough — fifty grams in A5 — that a single clip holds the whole year without complaint. The paper is smooth and matte, so a pencil mark sits cleanly on the surface and rubs away again without a ghost. You end up glancing at it far more often than at your phone.

What Makes It Work So Well

• You read it from the doorway: The figures are large enough that you take in the date on your way past rather than stopping to peer. After a week you no longer reach for a screen to confirm it.
• It hangs wherever you have a clip: You move it from kitchen to desk to studio without ceremony, and it never asks for a hook of its own.
• There is nothing to grow tired of: With no picture to look at, no month ever outstays its welcome. It simply does the job and gets out of your way.
