Hightide 2027 Egg Toast Square Monthly Diary

The Hightide 2027 Egg Toast Square Monthly Diary puts a fried egg on a slice of toast across its cover and makes no apology for it. The square shape is the genuinely unusual part — barely 105 millimetres across and five thick, small enough to vanish into a coat pocket, square enough that it never quite behaves like the diaries around it. Inside, sixteen months of monthly grids run in clean order between a calendar, notes and personal data pages.

Turn it over and the egg has been bitten into. The two covers are deliberately different, which you notice every single time you set it down the wrong way up. The softly grained cover gives a little under your thumb and warms quickly rather than staying cold and slick, and at 60 grams you forget it is in your bag at all.

Small Details, Big Difference

• A whole month at a glance: You stop hunting through pages to see where you are, because the month sits complete on one square spread. Plans three weeks out feel close enough to act on today.
• It never weighs down a pocket: You carry it about for a fortnight and forget it is there until you need it. No ribbon, no clasp, nothing to snag on a coat lining.
• Kind to your eyes after dark: You write under a lamp and the soft cream pages never glare back the way bright white does. Your ink settles warmer on the page, too.
